Retired Barbadian University lecturer, Trade Unionist, and Administrator, Doctor Beverley Goring, was elected Chairperson of The National Council of Barbadian Associations in the UK at the group’s recent Bi-Annual AGM in Birmingham. Doctor Goring brings a wealth of community work and a teaching career spanning some 40 years, from primary school teaching to university lecturing, at London South Bank. The National Council of Barbadian Associations UK has called for the NHS to waive their fees after Barbadian national Tharel Thompson was stabbed whilst on holiday. The incident occurred at 2:04 am on Sunday February 11 2024 at the Walkabout Bar, Wiston Terrace, Reading, where he was stabbed in the head multiple times.
